Purple Twistout

Image
In this video I recorded my baby sister's twist out. I taped the installation and the take down for you all. Our hair textures are a tad different. The biggest visible difference being that her hair has way more shrinkage than mines! Check out my little sister's Purple Twist-Out. I was having issues with the editing software...so just fast forward if you need too.lol Watch Me Grow- ;0 Kamitinae

Natural Hair on a DIME

Image
Natural's.....I have FOUND 1$ products that work great on natural hair.  I found shampoo, conditioner, satin cap, and hair towels!  Lord knows I initially went to the store to grab one thing...and ended up with it ALL. Check your local 99cent store for these great buys. This video shows brief tutorials on these products as well. Enjoy, and let me know if you find something affordable that works for you =) Grow with me, -Kamitinae

VDAY VIDEO Bohemian Hairstyle

Image
OMG....Valentines Day is just a few days away! My family page  http://www.youtube.com/user/4GradesNatural   has been doing Valentines Day hairstyles for natural, transitioning, etc, hair all week! However, I just uploaded a Vday hair special behind the scenes from the up-do my mother gave me.    I love big, wild, edgy hair so she gave me something a little different. I like to call it my bohemian up-do ; ) However, as you all know I just cut 3- inches of hair off so I was not sure how COOL of a hairstyle I could actually get. lol Omg why would I think my mom would have issues with my new hair. Cause you know what she ROCKED IT! And guess what I can wear this for a few days later! Omg what would we do without protective styling! Braids, twists, two strand twists, and bantu knots were all used to achieve this look. But don't worry it sounds more complicated than it actually is. haha But anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful Valentines with your loved ones! -xoxo...

Big Chop???? Hair cut Video!

Image
Hey everyone: Let me be honest...I like to change hairstyles a lot. Soooooooooooo the protective style I recently had in for a little over a week did not last long. Although I do plan on wearing them again and quite frequently. However, as I mentioned before....my hair in the front was quite a few inches longer than the back of my hair. Which leads me to this POST! I had my mother even all of my hair up to match the back. Had this been a few years ago I probably would have freaked. But....I feel hmmmm LIBERATED....I cannot wait until all of my hair is natural. This kind of eased the itching feeling I had to just cut everything off in desperation.lo l Westcott 8" Straight Pink Ribbon Scissors with Microban Antimicrobial (Google Affiliate Ad)

Video:Transitioning Hair Trail

Image
Alright everyone I decided to do this video on my past 9 months of hair transitioning. I do NOT plan on doing a big chop.....I think. I want my natural hair to reach my shoulders in its shrinkage state before I cut it all off. I shall call it my safe and mini chop.lol However, I want to say that I have NEVER had issues with my relaxed hair. I have never experienced any damaged hair...or severe breakage.  I basically started this journey because I want my natural thick hair back. I want the beautiful twists and twist outs..braid outs...bantu knots...etc. My hair is super thick and until now I forgot what my real hair actually looks like.  However, I am excited to be entering my 10th month of transitioning soon and then a year! This video is a just a small trail of my journey! Anyone else journeying out there!?!?! =) Babyliss Pro Black Carrera Hair Dryer (Google Affiliate Ad)

Natural Hair Growth Update-Moisturizing

Image
These last two days I have been wearing my hair in a bun. I was tired of braiding my hair...using bantu knots...and all that twisting! Whew! So I used lots of water and moisturizer to slick it back into a medium high bun! Anyways, I thought it was important to show you guys my natural/permed hair. I would like to say that my natural texture is probably a 4b and perhaps a 4c in some areas in the back. My hair is wavy and sometimes spiral curls on my edges. But....the back seems to be a tad more coarse??? With less of a curl pattern. But I moisturize my hair at least 4-5 days a week. My hair tends to dry out really fast to the point where it feels brittle. One day I took my twist out to moisturize and my permed hair was super hard. However, my natural hair at the roots was somewhat soft. I've noticed that my hair responds differently.....perm/natural hair. The following pictures are just me sectioning my hair and moisturizing my hair. I cannot believe I use so much water i...
